STAVE PAPER (do not read if you love digital perfection.)

Or, maybe you prefer how the monks were doing this stuff.

I print stave paper daily. Recently, I’ve found myself quickly sketching a short stave to explain a musical idea, write a quick melody, or sketch a drum pattern for a student or myself. It’s just faster than running to the printer.

Turns out, I like the spacing in my own hand more than that of Berklee’s free staff paper, or whatever one I’m using. So I made this (obviously in my own hand, minus one line where I really messed up the spacing.) I left plenty of room in between the staves for notes, explanations, counts, etc. It’s quick, it’s messy, it might remind us we are human.
